Day 180 30th June Making progress with the Yuma QAL. I have followed the first page of instructions. I think it is going to be a bright quilt… Must get back to the FGV since I have this week’s blocks to make. Advertisements
Day 179 June 29th Did a little more Yuma piecing this afternoon. My treat having completed the ironing on this hot day. The QAL taking shape slowly.
Day 178 June 28th Time for a little stitching in the sun. I have finished the hexie I started yesterday. Liking this leisurely pace of life.
Day 177 June 27th Just laid this out to see how its going; I need a few more. Since I will now be using my stash rather than vintage I can organise the colours a little. It needs brightening up . Hope to do some when we take our caravan on its maiden voyage later …
Day 175 June 26th Just finished this hexie that was virtually finished yesterday. I need to try them out together to see how many more are needed. I have used up most of the vintage pieces now .
Day 175 June 25th Jo Blox met in Teresa’s garden this evening. We all enjoyed stitching outside until it got dark- then we had to have cake… Well it was Mandy’s birthday. ..
Day 174 June 24th No time to stitch today, but saw some interesting stitchy designs at New Designers 2015. Saw my cushions displayed in Amy Warne’s Manchester University booth. It was great to see all of her lovely designs and woven samples. Also managed to see Penny Jeffries and her vibrant work in the Bath …
Day 173 June 23rd Tonight I managed to make a start on my Yuma QAL. It has just dawned on me how big it will be- these are the small triangles! I hope the large pieces of mustard and sludge green will look OK…..
Day 172 June 22nd Another 6″block to add to my FGV collection. It is quite cheery!
Day 171 June 21st Just finished making 5 cushions. It took me longer than normal since they are for Amy Warne’s Young Designer 2015 display. I had to take extra care to make sure her work was shown with the pattern dead straight and there was no spare fabric for mistakes. Pleased with the end …
